During
his career with the Indian Navy it had dawned upon the founder,
Late Lieutenant Adhir Chandra Bhattacharjee that the navy
was not in a position to cater to the needs of the Indian
industry. The needs were vast and the navy had little spare
capacity to provide on a sustained basis. It was then he decided
to leave the navy to form India's first commercial diving
company. Thus was born Abee Engineering Corporation in 1971. |

Since
inception we have striven to provide services of exceptional
quality at very reasonable cost to our customers. Over the
years we have grown to become one of the largest and most
diversified commercial diving contractors. We are perhaps
the only diving company in India to design and manufacture
a large part of the equipment that we use. With passage of
time we have introduced newer technology and latest equipment
to our work. Today, we have in our stock some of the best
equipment available. |

Amongst
our first customers were some hydroelectric power projects.
Thereafter, the customer list went on to include power utilities,
construction companies, irrigation projects, steel plants,
shipping companies, ports, refineries, fertilizer plants,
etc. |

We
are a General Member
of the Association of Diving
Contractors International. This Association, popularly
known by the acronym ADC, is based in Houston, Texas. The
ADC strives to formulate and propagate safe diving practice
and to provide an interface with regulatory authorities around
the world. As the only Indian member of this Association,
we are committed to their ideals. |

In
1999 Abee Engineering Corporation was reconstituted from a
Partnership to a privately held limited company and renamed
Abee Divecorp Private Limited. The new company, thus formed,
is managed by a board of directors. |
